Abstract

This work shows the perspectives of application and use of motion analysis technology for diagnosis and follow-up in therapeutic processes, through the analysis of motion parameters, supported by SMART-E BTS technology. This technology allows the analysis of the kinematics of body movements and records data and images in three dimensions (3D), to allow the analysis and assessment of movement in the frontal, sagittal and transverse planes. The aim of this study is to show the possible applications and use of this technology. The models for three application studies are presented: body balance, hand behavior after cerebrovascular disease (CVD) and analysis of instability in the lumbar spine. These models show the possibility of measuring the behavior of one or several angles, in terms of displacement, velocity and acceleration. This type of technology allows the evaluation to be objective and guarantees the reproducibility of the tests in different scenarios.
