However, antiretroviral treatments have allowed patients with HIV infection have a higher survival rate; but linked to this, there have been side effects such as memory problems and cognitive functioning of these patients. This is a descriptive exploratory study that had intended to describe the anxiety, depression and perceived quality of life in 35 patients with HIV/AIDS and mild cognitive impairment, selected by convenience. Three questionnaires were used; BDI- II to assess depressive symptoms, BAI to assess anxiety symptoms and MOS- SF30 to assess quality of life. In addition, a semi-structured interview was conducted to further analyze these three variables. Within the results was evident that all patients have some level of anxiety and depression, they assess their quality of life at a midpoint; neither optimal nor low. These and other results are in discussion.
