Abstract
This article presents an analysis of the professional elements and criteria of ten political blogs (j-blogs) integrated into the newspaper websites of reference of Brazil and Spain. The aim of the study is to understand the elements the professional standards and practice of journalism so much discussed by Kovach and Rosenstiel (2003) in those blogs. It is about investigating aspects that include from the use of an objective method in the verification of information to consultation with sources. To find out about them in the content generation process of 977 posts, published between 2010 and 2011, we have carried out an analysis of web content and interviews with journalists and bloggers. Relevant data from the research is that in the case of j-blogs the sources may be indirectly referenced through a link.
