Abstract
This article is an approach to the way international mediation is regulated in the field of Private International Law (PILaw) and European Law. In the first part, the concept of mediation and the characteristics that differentiate it from other
methods of alternative dispute resolution (adr) is discussed. The second part is devoted to the regulatory framework governing mediation in International Law (Intl Law) and European Law. In the final part, the article refers to the main legal aspects of international mediation, contract clauses related submission to mediation, and mediation contracts in cross-border cases
