Project: Research Project

Project Details

Description

This interdisciplinary and inter-institutional research aims to investigate and evaluate practices in university hospitals in Bogota regarding the treatment of biological materials and personal databases for biomedical research purposes, and to determine whether they guarantee the rights of individuals participating in research. It begins in 03/ of 2018 with its presentation to the IRBs of the participating institutions . Response times to authorize execution ranged from 3 to 18 months. A quali-quantitative methodology was used. To date, the process has been completed in seven institutions and one partially (thirty-three people with different profiles were interviewed and surveyed). Partial results: draft review article, presentation of theoretical advances in social appropriation spaces. Pending: 1. finalization of the sample collection and data analysis, 2. construction of the second product in the research article category, 3. submission of the products for publication and 4. the meeting with the participating institutions. Of the total amount of $214,045,154, $93,735,760 has been executed. Pending execution of $50,146,240 (transcriptions, publications, dissemination).
