Strengthening strategy: Institutions, communities and territory

The institutional strengthening proposal that accompanies the program "Productive and Social Inclusion: Programs and Policies for the Promotion of Inclusive Formal Economy" presented by the "EFI-Formal and Inclusive Economy Alliance" seeks to strengthen the quality of national higher education institutions, as well as to strengthen communities and territories through the implementation of science, technology and innovation activities in coordination with institutions from the productive sector.

The strengthening plan has actions in two dimensions: from the execution of the projects themselves that result in an increase of capacities that are reflected in an improvement in the traditional R&D&I indexes; and from the institutional commitment of the members of the Alliance to contribute to the Program beyond their participation in projects. For this reason, the execution of the program will be carried out under a governance scheme where representatives of the different institutions of the alliance will have a seat and will be able to contribute to the decision making process.

GENERAL OBJECTIVEDesign and implement models, policies and instruments that lead to organizational changes and capacity building to make science, research and its application, the dominant culture within an ecosystem of institutions, projects and networks of researchers, through participation in the Program 'Productive and social inclusion: programs and policies for the promotion of a formal economy'.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES1. Strengthen the quality of higher education institutions through support to institutional accreditation processes and accreditation of programs associated to the thematic and disciplines related to the Program's Proposal.2. Design and implement strategies for the formation of human resources in the Higher Education Institutions and in the institutions of the Productive Sector that are part of the alliance.3. To build and consolidate national and international collaboration networks among the participants of the alliance that lead to results in research, teaching, extension and internationalization of the participating HEIs.4. Promote, through the Program and its component projects, the interaction between the productive sector and higher education institutions for the development of social and organizational innovation activities that result in the implementation of innovative initiatives and policy recommendations that allow progress in the formalization of the economy.5. Promote evaluation and monitoring capacities oriented to the impact of the Alliance institutions, both in the follow-up of institutional projects as well as in academic and research management issues and the transfer of results to society.
