Project Details
Description
The general objective of this interdisciplinary research is to know and understand the socio-ecological trajectories and dynamics of deforestation in forests in post-conflict Colombia using case studies based on experiences and information from other countries that have already experienced a conflict and post-conflict process. Our specific objectives are twofold:
1) To understand the spatial-temporal dynamics of deforestation in 3-4 regions dominated by forests in different tropical countries that have experienced a post-conflict process in the last 30 years.
2) Use results from Objective #1 to statistically develop and model socio-ecological trajectory scenarios for 2-3 Colombian regions dominated by representative forests that were under FARC control.
