Description
To advance in the understanding of imaginaries about sexuality and the sexual and reproductive rights of people with intellectual disabilities, from different sectors and social actors in Bogota, as well as in the knowledge and information about them, as fundamental referents for the design of policies and strategies for training and education, which favor equitable social practices within the framework of the Convention on Persons with Intellectual Disabilities of Nations.
People with intellectual disabilities (PWD), have been historically excluded from the informative and educational topics on Sexuality and Sexual and Reproductive Rights. The social model on disability as a current paradigm beyond the clinical model, integrates sexuality and sexual and reproductive health as part of the integral development of each individual from the perspective of human rights. Consequently, it is urgent to develop social, ethical and more equitable practices from different areas. This study aims to advance towards the understanding of prevalent stereotypes about sexuality and sexual and reproductive rights of people with intellectual disabilities, issued from different sectors and social actors in Colombia
