Description
The relationship between the use of devices for pregnancy prevention and the use of medications and substances with sexual functioning and other variables is evaluated.
The overall objective of this study is to identify the prevalence of responsible self-medication practices for pregnancy prevention, patterns of use, and their relationship to sexual functioning, sexual anxiety, anxiety, depression, and stress in a sample of Colombian women aged 18 to 49.
Specific Objectives
- To evaluate responsible self-medication practices with long- or short-acting pregnancy prevention methods: duration of use, satisfaction with use, risks and adverse effects, source of information, method switching, and motivations for such changes, among others.
- To assess the prevalence of responsible self-medication with long- and short-acting contraceptive methods in Colombia.
- To assess the relationship between responsible self-medication with contraceptive methods and sexual functioning, as well as physical, mental, and sexual health.
- To assess whether fear of pregnancy has a mediating effect between self-medication with contraceptive methods and sexual functioning.
