Rural enterprises led by women in the municipality of Tumaco (Nariño) and its rural area: analysis of opportunities and challenges from a perspective of citizen science

El emprendimiento femenino es un tema de gran relevancia en términos económicos y políticos. Estudios previos han demostrado que, en materia de emprendimiento femenino, existen unos factores individuales, socio-culturales e institucionales que determinan el desarrollo de la actividad emprendedora en las mujeres, no obstante, la investigación en torno a este tema en Colombia y en la región del pacífico colombiano, es limitada. Por lo anterior, en la presente investigación se plantea un estudio a través del cual, se pretende aportar al conocimiento sobre las oportunidades y desafíos que enfrentan las mujeres que lideran emprendimientos en el municipio de Tumaco y su zona rural. Para lograr el objetivo, se ha propuesto un estudio de investigación, basado en una modalidad de proyecto colaborativo, bajo el modelo de Ciencia Ciudadana. Participan del estudio mujeres que lideran emprendimientos en la zona rural del municipio de Tumaco, lideresas y líderes sociales, otros miembros de la comunidad y autoridades locales. Al finalizar el proyecto se espera generar un espacio de socialización sobre los hallazgos realizados, al igual que la entrega de una cartilla que consolide información relevante que ha sido construida por los científicos ciudadanos y un informe final, para ser entregado a la entidad financiadora.

Female entrepreneurship is an issue of great relevance in economic and political terms. Previous studies have shown that, in terms of female entrepreneurship, there are individual, socio-cultural and institutional factors that determine the development of entrepreneurial activity in women; however, research on this topic in Colombia and the region of the Colombian Pacific, is limited. Therefore, in this research a study is proposed through which it is intended to contribute to knowledge about the opportunities and challenges faced by women who lead businesses in the municipality of Tumaco and its rural area. To achieve the objective, a research study has been proposed, based on a collaborative project modality, under the Citizen Science model. Women who lead businesses in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Tumaco, social leaders, other members of the community and local authorities participate in the study. At the end of the project, it is expected to generate a space for socialization about the findings made, as well as the delivery of a booklet that consolidates relevant information that has been constructed by citizen scientists and a final report, to be delivered to the financing entity.
