Representation of the victims' moral experience The Trujillo case

The project places particular emphasis on the fact that a fundamental part of reparation as a justice mechanism is that society as a whole has a proper understanding of what happened, which, beyond a clarification of the facts, has to do with citizens understanding that what happened to the victims should not have happened. These types of cases show that, when it comes to the issue of how to deal with the past, it is not just about presenting facts and actors, but above all about how the events and the people and groups involved are represented.
To address these questions, the project takes as its point of access the case of the massacres perpetrated in Trujillo, Valle del Cauca, between 1986 and 1994 in which, according to the Truth Commission reports, there was participation of the State along with drug trafficking and paramilitary forces. Most of the dead were civilians accused of supporting the guerrillas. On these facts the community has been building a series of narrations with the objective of not allowing what happened to be forgotten or repeated, which in turn has become a way of restoring the dignity of the victims of these tragic events.
