Program for the promotion and prevention of geriatric syndromes in the elderly based on an evaluation algorithm / Program for the promotion and prevention of geriatric syndromes in the elderly.

Project: Research Project

Project Details

Description

Introduction: Geriatric syndromes constitute a series of highly prevalent conditions in the elderly, of multi-causal origin and that are associated with morbidity and mortality, in addition to being interrelated.

Detecting these syndromes in a timely manner is of vital importance to
care of the elderly, however, the application of validated instruments for this purpose requires a learning curve and dedication time, which primary care personnel do not have.

Objectives: Design a surveillance system for geriatric syndromes that is easy to access and use and can be used in clinical practice and primary health care. In a second phase (not contemplated in this protocol), the development of a tool based on artificial intelligence for the detection and formulation of intervention strategies will be considered.
