Description


The most common autoimmune disease of the orbit is orbitopathy associated with thyroid diseases. It usually occurs in patients with hyperthyroidism due to grave disease, however, the presence of this condition has been observed in patients with chronic euthyroid or hypothyroid autoimmune thyroiditis.

The objective of this project is to determine the prevalence of hypothyroidism and euthyroidism in patients with dysthyroid orbitopathy.

A systematic review of the literature will be published in different electronic databases such as PubMed, EMBASE, ScienceDirect and Cochrane. The books are interpreted, summarized, all the studies are used, the inclusion terms are applied and they are excluded, they are selected, they are learned, they are interpreted. Through population studies, the incidence, prevalence or frequency of this specific phenotype of the disease.

The quality of each study will be evaluated, and information on the frequency, prevalence or frequency of hypothyroidism or euthyroidism in dysthyroid orbitopathy.

The expected impact of this study is the daily clinical practice, where the medical professional may be able to argue with evidence as a population group can not rule out a dysthyroid orbitopathy after documentation of the state of euthyroidism or hypothyroidism.
