Description

The Observatory systematically monitors social mobilizations and other forms of collective action with a protest nature that take place in Colombia.

He also periodically observes some social mobilizations that have become relevant in the world, either due to their transnational scope or due to their impact on the national politics of a country or on the international media agenda.

Based on observations made throughout each passing year, ORAC produces a series of periodic reports (two or three per year).

One of the reports each year aims to make a general assessment of everything that happened in the immediately preceding year in terms of the practices of collective action for demands and participatory democracy in Colombia.

The other reports of the year focus their attention on some specific form of collective action or recourse to participatory democracy, with the purpose of describing and analyzing it in depth, either because it is a case that is of special importance for the current situation. country or because it is a case relatively ignored on the media and political agenda, despite having some type of relevance.

The reports are made available to the general public on our website and sometimes give rise to colloquia where guests from outside the university participate.
