Leadership influence on workers' psychological states and business model conception in the transition toward corporate sustainability

Project: Research Project

Project Details

Description

Addressing ecological restauration, diminishing social inequality while increasing economic performance have become imperatives for business success. To face this challenge, it’s necessary to understand which leadership styles can contribute to the adoption of sustainable behaviors in the organizational workforce. For this reason, this project examines how different ethical and moral leadership theories can influence the psychological wellbeing of employees and the adoption of sustainable behaviors.

On the other hand, the transformation and development of new and existing ways of doing business demand a new understanding of the goals and principles of business models. In this endeavor, the research field of sustainable business models (SBM) has developed the notion of archetypes or typologies, that can be classified in ecologic or social clusters. The SBM typologies are useful in the process of developing business model innovation toward sustainability. The identification of such SBM typologies has been done in European and Asian business contexts. This project has the objective of identifying which of the SBM typologies have been developed in the Latin-American region, and if new SBM typologies have emerged in the region due to the different socio-economic characteristics of the region. Identifying which SBM´s are being developed, their intensity and newness, will clarify our understanding of the drivers and barriers of sustainable business model adoption in Latin-America.
