Description
The National Nutrition Situation Survey (ENSIN) is a population survey that is applied every five years in the national territory. It represents the 32 departments and six regions of the country through the measurement of more than 50,000 households. It represents the entire Colombian population from early childhood to the elderly. The objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of the main nutritional problems, habits and behaviours of Colombians that affect health and quality of life discriminated against by sex, age, ethnicity, rural, urban, socioeconomic strata, poverty index, within the framework of the determination model and health determinants.
The ENSIN 2015 survey is the most recent national survey, in which CEMA researchers participated as experts in the formulation of indicators and questions on health, physical fitness, physical activity, sedentary behavior and eating patterns. These were included in the final survey model.
In this sense, the objective is to carry out transversal and secondary analyses to the national database of the aforementioned indicators and of interest to CEMA researchers. Also, carry out retrospective, comparative and longitudinal studies using the previous national databases of 2005 and 2010.
The ENSIN is an important tool for health decision-making.
