In vitro Expansion of Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Porcine Intestinal Submucosa

Project: Research Project

Project Details

Description

In vitro expansion of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) on porcine small intestinal submucosa (SIS) represents a promising strategy in the fields of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. SIS is a biologically derived extracellular matrix that retains structural components and bioactive molecules capable of supporting MSC adhesion, proliferation, and maintenance of their functional properties. The use of this biomaterial as a cell culture scaffold provides a physiologically relevant microenvironment that enhances cell viability while preserving the differentiation potential of stem cells. Evaluating MSC expansion on SIS will provide valuable information regarding its biocompatibility, effectiveness as a biological scaffold, and potential application in the development of regenerative therapies aimed at repairing damaged tissues and organs.
