Implications of pharmacogenomic variants in response to phenytoin: towards precision medicine and patient safety

  • Universidad del Rosario

Project: Research Project

Project Details

Description

An observational study will be conducted using expanded molecular analysis of hundreds of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in Colombian patients with refractory epilepsy, with respect to their response to phenytoin, in order to generate genomic profiles of susceptibility to adverse reactions (ARs) and drug resistance, reduce the impact on healthcare costs, and improve the quality of life of these patients.
This project is the result of collaboration between the CIGGUR, NEUROS, and URBIOMED research groups, which benefited from the call for proposals for the IX Meeting of Research Groups at the Universidad del Rosario 2024.
