Project Details
Description
In Colombia, out of 100 children born per year, only 56 initiated breastfeeding in the first hour of life in 2010 and 72 in 2015; considering that institutional delivery is 95%, this practice could be clearly improved (10).
Speaking specifically of Bogotá, for the year 2021, it is evident that breastfeeding practice increased to 69% and by the year 2022 it was 77.3%, going back to the usual trend of the indicator for the period 2012-2017, as the downward trend of the immediately preceding years (year 2020, 48.3%) is evident (11).
