Evaluation of pharmaceutical television advertising in Colombia

Project: Research Project

Project Details

Description

Pharmaceutical advertising has been a major contributing factor to the ongoing marketing of over-the-counter medications. This has led to the creation and implementation of national and international regulations aimed at mitigating the potential omission, misrepresentation, or excessive dissemination of information about a pharmaceutical product. Proper compliance with these regulations is an issue that concerns us all, as it has an impact—positive or negative—on the health of the population.

The importance of this project lies in the need to ensure the integrity and accuracy of advertising information related to the pharmaceutical industry, as well as to protect consumers from potential risks associated with misleading or irresponsible advertising. In a constantly evolving digital environment, where advertising is ubiquitous and can reach a massive audience in a matter of seconds, it is essential to strengthen regulatory mechanisms to
ensure that promotional information meets the highest established ethical and legal standards. This study aligns with global and local efforts aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in pharmaceutical advertising, thereby contributing to the protection of public health and the strengthening of consumer confidence in the relevant market
