Description

The aim of this study is to establish and characterize a cell line derived from Culex quinquefasciatus, a medically important mosquito species that serves as a vector for multiple human pathogens. Characterization will include the assessment of cellular morphology, growth kinetics, chromosomal stability, gene expression profiles, and cell line authentication using cellular, molecular, and cytogenetic techniques. In addition, the susceptibility of the cell line to infection with arboviruses, filarial parasites, and other pathogens of public health relevance will be evaluated to validate its use as an experimental model for studies of vector–pathogen interactions, innate immune responses, insect cell biology, and vector control strategies. The establishment of this cell line will provide a valuable biological platform for research in medical entomology, vector-borne diseases, biotechnology, and the development of novel approaches for pathogen surveillance and control.
