Description
Dual pathology is a severe psychiatric entity with devastating biopsychosocial consequences.
It is presumed that the prevalence of dual pathology is between 40-60%; the predominance in young population, the high associated costs and the high comorbidity makes it a disorder of high negative impact worldwide.
However, in Colombia there have been no incidence and/or prevalence studies on the subject, and there is no knowledge of which are the most frequent pathologies associated with substance use.
Our objective is to find such data, grounded to our reality and to make visible the importance of interventions focused on comorbidity, as well as to vindicate the concept of dual pathology so that it has diffusion in the medical community.
