Description
Autoinflammatory diseases (AIDs) are a group of pathologies characterised by recurrent episodes of inflammation without an obvious infectious cause, neoplasms or dysregulation of the adaptive immune system. Despite advances in the understanding of these diseases, there is still a significant lack of clinical and demographic data due to their low prevalence, making it difficult to obtain sufficiently large cohorts to conduct robust studies.
The AIDA (Autoinflammatory Disease Alliance) project aims to fill this gap by creating an international network of hospitals and research centres that will collaborate to collect and analyse data from patients with AIDs on an online platform. This database will enable the detailed analysis of patients' clinical, genetic and therapeutic characteristics, which in turn will provide critical information for the early diagnosis and personalised treatment of these rare diseases.
