Description
Introduction: Acute heart failure is a common cause of hospitalization with high mortality. In Colombia, gaps in the implementation of therapies and suboptimal management increase the risk of poor outcomes.
Objective: To describe the clinical and demographic characteristics, management, and hospital mortality in patients hospitalized with acute heart failure treated at the Hospital Universitario Mayor Méderi.
Methodology: Observational, descriptive retrospective cohort study. All patients included in the CARDIOMED institutional acute heart failure registry will be included. Descriptive analysis will be performed to explore which exposure variables are associated with in-hospital mortality.
Expected results: To describe the population that consults the Mayor Méderi University Hospital with acute heart failure and, in an exploratory manner, identify which clinical, sociodemographic, and therapeutic factors are associated with in-hospital mortality in this population, providing local information to improve care and guide interventions aimed at this population.
