International Foreign Investment Law: Limit to the regulatory capacity of the Colombian State

Project: Research Project

Project Details

Description

Foreign investment has been presented as a fundamental element in the country's economic development. In this context, Colombia has signed APRIS and FTAs with other countries. At present, Colombia has been notified by five foreign investors of their intention to sue the country for violations of the terms of the agreements, as a direct consequence of decisions of the Constitutional Court and administrative acts issued by the government. In this context, this project seeks to analyze the five lawsuits that currently exist against Colombia (and the others that may be filed during the duration of the project) in relation to the State's regulatory capacity.
