Analyze the conflicts, opportunities and challenges of the role of the Guardians of the Atrato River from the perspective of Local Alternative Approaches to Conventional Development-ELAD, in the context of the municipality of the Quito River

Keywords

Characterize the main socio-spatial transformations of the Quito River municipality today, from the voices and life experiences of local and institutional actors.
Document the biographies of the Atrato River Guardians and their relationship with the Local Alternative Approaches to Conventional Development - ELAD.
Design strategies that face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities of the municipality of the Quito River in the framework of the emergency of the Guardians of the Atrato River.

1. Review of the academic literature on the subject to validate, complement or refute it from the perspective of the object of study.
2. Deconstruction of 14 biographies of leading social actors of the Atrato river basin.
3. Analysis of the main conflicts, opportunities and challenges of the role of the Atrato River Guardians in the context of the Quito River municipality.
4. Analysis of the biographies of the Guardians of the Atrato River from the perspective of the ELAD
5. Methodological design of the ELAD
6. Design of a working paper with strategies that contribute to face the situation of socio-economic crisis.

EXPECTED TRAINING PRODUCTS
1. Formal research: Strengthening of the Political and International Studies Group; of the lines of investigation Dynamics and territorial management and Social movements and collective action; and the Urban Laboratory of the Urban Management and Development program from the generation of new products
knowledge.



2. Formative research: Consolidation of the research seedbed at the University: "We are all guardians of the Atrato river"; strengthening the investigative skills of two young researchers recently graduated from undergraduate degrees; and training of three research assistants from the Faculty's undergraduate programs.
3. Master's work: a degree work.
4. Consolidation of a national academic work network based on the learning community called: Allies and advisers and research.
5. Generation and formation of a local investigative group in the municipality of the Quito River, as a sustainability strategy for the initiative.
