Project: Research Project

Project Details

Description

The curricular reform of the Medicine program of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Universidad del Rosario, implemented since the second semester of 2013, is based on reconciling the gap between the biological paradigms and the humanities, placing important emphasis on training in Primary Care, has graduated its first cohort of graduates this year [1].

Therefore, there is a need to investigate the current status of the graduates to determine the quality and relevance of the Academic Program, evaluating whether the projection carried out by our Institution with respect to the areas of teaching, research and extension is intertwined with the events of society and the professional needs of the market, thus evaluating the gap that separates the institutional mission and vision from social reality[2].

The above raises questions to characterize the graduate and their impact on the environment:
How to evaluate the impact of the curricular reform of the Medicine program?

How to evaluate the perception in the environment about the quality of the Medicine program?

What elements can be characterized with respect to the graduates and the reality of the country that the curriculum responds to? What is the most relevant information management model for monitoring graduates?

[2]. To meet the scope of this challenge, the following document proposes carrying out a descriptive research of mixed methodology, which allows a characterization of the graduates and investigates personal and professional aspects, to know the impact of the cohort of graduates in the areas of research, public health, and job performance and understand the perception of the relevance of the program with respect to the reality of the labor market [2].
