Description

Memory is a crucial psychological process for a person's performance in the individual, professional, academic, recreational and social spheres, as well as in the
identity construction.

There are multiple ways to evaluate it. In Colombia, studies have been carried out on healthy children to evaluate specific types of memory in Barranquilla, Medellín, Cali and Bucaramanga, as well as global memory evaluation studies in Manizales and Medellín.

Given the lack of studies aimed at the global evaluation of memory in school children without developmental disorders in Bogotá, and the importance of characterizing the development of the memory process in childhood as a determining factor in skills, it is necessary to evaluate the characteristics of memory in said population and the sociodemographic factors that may influence it.

For this, the performance in memory tests in first and fifth grade children from public and private schools in Bogotá will be described through the Child Neuropsychological Evaluation (ENI) in which auditory verbal memory is evaluated through a list of words from animal, fruit, and animal categories. and body parts; the memory of a text or logical memory; visual memory through a list of geometric figures; and the delayed evocation of memory through spontaneous recovery of lists of words, keys and complex figures.

Additionally, a survey of sociodemographic data and the BASC questionnaire will be carried out for parents and teachers, since it evaluates factors that may influence performance in memory tests.
