Project Details

Description

Autoimmune diseases comprise nearly 100 pathologies and affect 5-10% of the world's population, covering all medical specialties. Given their severity and chronicity, the costs they generate are enormous. Their clinical management is often challenging, especially given the rates of comorbidity and involvement of multiple organs at each stage of the disease (1). There are difficulties for patients with autoimmune diseases, such as timely and appropriate diagnosis and treatment. The importance of early diagnosis and treatment initiation is key to minimizing complications that can occur as a result of autoimmune diseases, such as damaged internal organs, loss of physical mobility, and increased likelihood of death. Therefore, early diagnosis is paramount (2).
