Description
The stress response is a complex physiological process that can modify immune system function and induce changes in both humoral and cellular immune responses. Among undergraduate students, stressors associated with academic activities, examination periods, and the demands of university life may lead to variations in immunological parameters. Assessing the humoral and cellular immune responses before, during, and after exposure to a stressor makes it possible to investigate the relationship between psychological stress and immune function. Relevant indicators may include immunoglobulin levels and other molecules associated with humoral immunity, as well as the number, distribution, and activity of different immune cell populations. The study of these changes may contribute to understanding the mechanisms through which acute or sustained stress influences immune system regulation and may help identify factors associated with altered immune responses in university students.
