Application of concepts to address the study of political instability as a threat to the security of Andean nations. The Ecuadorian case.

Project: Research Project

Project Details

Description

The Andean nations, and Ecuador in particular, constitute a universe in which the study of the relationship between security and democracy becomes important, both in theoretical and practical terms. In this regard, the aim is to develop a conceptual framework to define the characteristics of these nations, using Mohammed Ayoob, a security theorist in developing countries, as a reference. This is in order to deepen scientific knowledge about the relationship between security and democracy.
This research seeks to address the phenomenon of political instability as a threat to the security of those countries where there is no effective democratic consolidation, as well as the impact of this on the surrounding countries. Consequently, the central theme of the work will be the impact of political instability on Ecuadorian security, on its relationship with Colombia and on the Andean region.

Commitments / Obligations
