Project Details

Description

Objective: to report a case of drug-induced anterior uveitis secondary to the use of intracameral moxifloxacin.
Clinical case: a 64-year-old Colombian patient presented intense ocular pain and photophobia in his left eye 15 days after cataract surgery. Assessed by ophthalmology and glaucoma with evidence of pigment dispersion in the anterior chamber and chamber angle, severe inflammation of the anterior segment, and elevated intraocular pressure. After the poor response to treatment, other triggers were evaluated, concluding that it was a drug-induced anterior uveitis secondary to the use of
intracameral moxifloxacin
Conclusion and importance: This report is the second case report published worldwide on drug-induced anterior uveitis secondary to the use of intracameral moxifloxacin, providing evidence on the importance of postoperative follow-up by the anterior segment surgeon for early referral and treatment. of these cases.
