Description
The condition of people living with HIV, from the perspective of the infection itself, has been studied worldwide, and it is clear how antiretroviral therapy in the treatment of HIV AIDS has been highly effective for patients, has increased their longevity, has improved their quality of life and has reduced complications1. Although cases have been reported in Colombia since 1983, and there is research to highlight the characteristics of the affected population, there are still gaps to identify how sociodemographic dynamics and the association of pathologies accelerate aging, as has been documented internationally.
Therefore, this study seeks to determine the relationship between pathophysiological processes, sociodemographic conditions and aging, in order to contribute to the identification of social determinants, risk factors and generate strategies for comprehensive health care and the improvement of living conditions of people living with HIV.
