Research Incubator: Social dynamics: conflict and peace

Given the current Colombian context, the study of social conflicts in different scenarios is relevant to bring a greater understanding from psychology to phenomena such as peace building. It is for this reason that this nursery proposes the study of various elements such as the construction of identities, collective memory, as well as the identification of social attitudes, emotions and moral agency in the context of social and armed conflict, as well as the various peace-building processes.

Recently the hotbed has integrated into its discussions the role of fake news to understand attributions of people who influence accept them more easily in contexts of high uncertainty such as the pandemic of 2020.

Research Lines: Psychology of Peace and Coexistence; Fake news and health behaviors; Transformation of conflict; Psychology of climate change.

Objectives:

1. To explore, deepen and investigate the determinants of social behaviour that facilitate coexistence.
2. To study dynamics of social behaviour associated with prejudice, exclusion and social discrimination.
3. Submit research projects.
4. Participate in information dissemination activities.
