Organization profile

Description:

The research group has two fundamental areas. The first focuses on the development and control of robots to perform specific tasks. This includes the design of navigation algorithms, the development of social robotics, and participation in robotics competitions. The second area is oriented toward intelligent systems, involving the interaction of robots in environments with humans and the interfaces (both physical and cognitive) used to establish such interaction. In addition, another topic of interest within human–robot interaction is the exploration of smart textiles.

Objective

  1. Develop competencies for research in robotics and intelligent systems.
  2. Implement solutions to real-world problems involving the use of hardware and software at the level of conceptual testing.
  3. Promote the development of applications in human–robot interaction.
  4. Encourage participation in national and international robotics competitions.

Research lines or active projects:

  1. Competitive robotics
  2. Smart textiles
  3. Human–robot interaction
