Objectives: 

  • To promote interprofessional work opportunities towards the development of assistive, rehabilitation and education technologies with social impact.
  • Design and produce technology devices based on the analysis of diverse contexts, to enable social participation of persons, groups and communities.
  • Encourage the use of Universal Design principles to support the use of technologies based on equity and social justice.

Description:

RehaTEK is a formative research environment that builds upon a research seedbed. It seeks to create solutions that respond to social and participation demands of People with Disabilities (PwD) who live in diverse contexts, encouraging economic, social and cultural perspectives.

It’s main purposes are:

  • Designing innovative and low-cost assistive technologies aimed at self-care occupations, instrumental activities of daily living, and play.  
  • Designing soft and hard technologies that are innovative, low-cost and relevant to different contexts. 
  • Strenghten research on rehabilitation and education technologies aimed at the assessment, evaluation, restoration or rehabilitation of functional capabilities. 

The RehaTEK research seedbed work is intended to develop interprofessional activities among biomedical engineer, health sciences, and human sciences students. Thus, contribute from a holistic and functional vision of individuals and groups, to their interaction with different environments, occupations and activities.
