Description:
The research incubator is oriented towards researching and experimenting with moving images and interactive experiences from an interdisciplinary perspective. This academic space seeks to integrate knowledge and practices from areas such as animation, design, audiovisual creation, creative programming, and video games to generate research-creation projects. Open to students from various disciplines, the research incubator fosters the development of projects that cross creative and technological boundaries, driving proposals that expand the conventions of audiovisual media and explore new forms of interaction and narration.
Objectives:
- 1. To foster interdisciplinary research and creation around animation, expanded audiovisual experiences, and interactive projects, integrating different creative and technical approaches.
- 2. To develop research-creation projects that explore the narrative and expressive potential of moving images, interactive experiences, non-linear narratives, and video games.
- 3. To encourage technological and creative experimentation through the use of advanced digital tools, animation techniques, and interactive platforms, promoting innovation in audiovisual production.
- 4. To create a collaborative space among students from various disciplines, where collective learning and the production of interdisciplinary projects are fostered.
- 5. To contribute to the academic knowledge of the university through the creation of audiovisual and interactive products that have an impact both on the academic community and in the professional environment.
Working Methodology:
Lines of Research or Active Projects:
- 1. Interactive narratives and expanded audiovisual: Exploration of new forms of storytelling that involve user interaction and creative programming for immersive and non-linear experiences in digital and physical environments.
- 2. Experimental animation: Research on unconventional animation techniques and their application in artistic creation, with an emphasis on exploring movements, materials, and hybrid processes.
- 3. Mixed and virtual realities: Development of projects that integrate technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) to generate immersive audiovisual experiences, with a focus on programming for artistic and interactive creation.
- 4. New media and emerging technologies: Research on how emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and creative programming, can be applied to audiovisual and interactive creation, transforming traditional production paradigms.
