Description:
The Research Group in cardiovascular medicine arises as an initiative of the Interest Group of Cardiovascular Medicine (GIMC) of the University of the Rosario, with the purpose that undergraduate students of medicine of the University of the Rosario employ knowledge previously acquired and expand it through the formulation and resolution of hypotheses that arise during their academic formation in the cardiovascular area. This seedbed is conceived as a formative, collaborative and interdisciplinary space, where research skills, critical thinking and scientific creativity can be developed, through the accompaniment of referents, academic mentors, researchers and clinicians.
The mission of the seedbed is the formulation, execution and dissemination of research projects in relevant topics of cardiovascular medicine, such as prevention, diagnosis, pathophysiology, technological innovation, therapeutic optimization and integral care in cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it seeks to strengthen the bond between academia and the sociocultural environment through clinical reference centers, promoting an ethical, human and scientifically rigorous formation.
The seedbed will function as a platform of academic and scientific immersion, allowing students the approach to research from early stages of their formation and their linkage to existing projects of the GIMC group or to generate proposals with impact in public health, medical education or clinical innovation, with special emphasis on the needs of the Colombian context.
