Rapid changes are taking place around the world that exacerbate social inequalities and demand urgent responses in areas such as poverty, access to and quality of education, employability, natural resource management, humanitarian crises, and the effectiveness of equity policies in areas such as ethnicity, gender, disability, the perspective of healthcare and the social impact of its professions, and the habitability of territories, all of which are verified in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

What, then, is the place of a profession such as ours in its contributions from the perspective of science, technology, and innovation?
